What if we taught our children to have balance in their lives from a young age so they naturally took care of their health as they got older?
The downside to where we are today is that our children are suffering. They do not get enough rest. They are constantly performing, preparing and producing. Holiday breaks are for catch-up with homework, whereas that time used to be for catching up with family.

Thanksgiving is an opportunity to slow down and focus on what we are grateful for. So often the holiday season tends to speed us up and we become too busy to enjoy it. Do you remember when your dad did the impossible? Maybe he fixed something that was broken on the car or in the yard or one of your toys when you were little. Maybe your heart was broken when you lost a pet and your dad was there to hug you and let you cry.
That’s how deeply mothers touch their children. We have been given a true gift as mothers. May we cherish it and use it to pass on wisdom, love and humanity to our children.
They go to their friends when they need someone. If we announce “I am not your friend,” we are closing a really important door.
