“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” ~ Helen Keller
When I read this quote, I immediately thought of mothers. As we embark on Mother’s Day, may we take a few moments to reflect on what we receive from the mothers in our lives. On this beautiful day of celebration and gratitude, what do we truly want to say? What do we want to instill in our children, as far as expressing their gratitude for the gifts of love and caring their mother brings?
Is Mother’s Day just another holiday, or is it an exciting opportunity to truly celebrate mom? We get to think about our intention, our heart, and what we want to create. As we plan for the events of the day with our children, we get to ask them what brings them joy about mom. We get to talk about gratitude and true appreciation. What would “celebrating” in its true sense look like to our kids? Let’s make it fun and authentic. Create new traditions of love, warmth and heart.
What have you felt in your heart because of your mom? What have your children felt? Love is beautiful. Receive it. Embrace it. Share it … with joy.
